1. Information We Collect and Process
Local Device Storage:
- Scripture references and text you've discovered
- Personal notes and reflections on verses
- Weekly organization data and session history
- App preferences and Bible version selections
- Export history and user customizations
Audio Processing (Not Stored):
- Voice audio is processed in real-time for speech recognition
- Audio is sent to Apple's Speech Recognition servers temporarily
- No audio recordings are saved on your device or our servers
- Speech-to-text conversion happens live and is discarded after processing
All personal data is stored locally on your device using iOS Core Data and UserDefaults. We do not have access to your stored information.
2. How We Process Your Information
Speech Recognition Process:
- Your voice is captured and sent to Apple's Speech Recognition API for transcription
- Transcribed text is then analyzed by OpenAI's API to identify Bible references
- No audio files are stored; only text transcriptions are temporarily processed
- The system learns scripture patterns to improve accuracy over time
AI Scripture Recognition:
- Speech transcriptions are sent to OpenAI's GPT-4o-mini model for scripture parsing
- OpenAI processes this data according to their API terms (data not used for model training)
- We request only scripture references, not personal interpretations
- Processing happens in real-time with no permanent storage on external servers
3. OpenAI API Integration
For AI Scripture Recognition:
- We use our own OpenAI API key for scripture recognition processing
- Only transcribed speech (not audio) is sent to OpenAI for analysis
- OpenAI processes requests according to their API Data Usage Policies
- Data sent to OpenAI is not stored or used for model training per their API terms
- We implement rate limiting to protect both user privacy and service quality
4. Data Sharing and Third Parties
We share data only with essential services:
- Apple Speech Recognition: Voice audio for real-time transcription only
- OpenAI: Text transcriptions for scripture identification (not stored by OpenAI)
- Apple App Store: Subscription management handled by Apple's secure systems
We do not use analytics services, advertising networks, or any other third-party services that would access your personal spiritual content.
