1. Information We Collect
Local Device Storage Only:
- Journal entries (text and video)
- User profile information (name, birth year)
- App preferences and settings
- Achievement and streak data
- Custom tags and categories
All of this information is stored locally on your device using iOS Core Data and UserDefaults. We do not have access to this information.
2. How We Use Your Information
AI Processing Only:
- When you chat with your MiniiMe personas, your journal entries are temporarily sent to OpenAI's API to generate responses
- This data passes through OpenAI's servers only for the duration of processing your request
- We do not store copies of your data on our servers
- OpenAI processes the data according to their privacy policy and data usage terms
3. API Key Usage
Important for Users with Custom API Keys:
- Users who provide their own OpenAI API key are subject to our rate limiting (10 messages per minute)
- API calls are made to OpenAI's current endpoints using models we select (currently GPT-4o-mini)
- You are choosing to use whatever AI models we have configured in the app
- Your API usage will be billed directly by OpenAI to your account
- We do not monitor or log your API key usage beyond rate limiting
4. Data Sharing and Third Parties
We do not share your data with anyone except:
- OpenAI: Only for AI conversation processing. Data is not stored by OpenAI per their API terms.
- Apple: Subscription information is handled by Apple's App Store per their privacy policy.
We do not use analytics services, advertising networks, or any other third-party services that would access your personal data.
5. Data Security
- All data stored locally on your device is protected by iOS security features
- API communications use HTTPS encryption
- We do not maintain servers that store user data
- If you delete the app, all your data is permanently removed from your device
6. Your Rights
- Data Control: You have complete control over your data since it's stored on your device
- Deletion: Delete individual entries or all data at any time in the app
- Export: Data is stored in standard iOS formats accessible through device backups
- API Control: You can remove or change your custom API key at any time
7. Children's Privacy
MiniiMe is designed for users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children, as all data remains on the user's device.
8. Changes to Privacy Policy
We will notify users of any material changes to this privacy policy through app updates and on this website.
