1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, accessing or using MiniiMe ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Use and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App. These terms are between you and Colin Boykin ("we", "us"), not Apple.
2. What MiniiMe Does
MiniiMe is a personal journal that lets you:
- Write, film or talk memories, including a daily 30-second recap (Daily 30)
- Seal time capsules that stay locked until the day you choose
- Attach photos, videos and a song to a day
- Design a pixel MiniiMe, pick the places you've lived, and add the people and pets in your life
- Swipe through My Life, an animated chapter for each year
- Talk to your MiniiMe from any year, using AI built from what you wrote and said back then
- Add where a memory happened and see your places on a map
- Add friends, share chosen memories into each other's timelines, react and add your side of the story
- Make a public link to share one memory with anyone
- Back up your journal privately and restore it on a new phone
3. Accounts
- Journaling works without an account. Talking to your MiniiMes, AI summaries and restoring your backup on a new phone need a free account, created with an email address or phone number and a password
- You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for activity on your account
- Give accurate sign-in information and don't create accounts for other people without their permission
- You can delete your account at any time in Settings > Account > Delete account
4. Free Month and MiniiMe Yearly
- Every new MiniiMe account gets its first month free, counted from when the account is created
- After that, MiniiMe Yearly ($14.99 per year in the US, or the local price shown in the App Store) keeps your MiniiMe chats, life chapter summaries and cloud backup going
- MiniiMe Yearly is an auto-renewing yearly subscription. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase
- It renews automatically at the price shown unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period
- Manage or cancel any time in your Apple Account settings. Cancelling stops future renewals; the current period stays active until it ends
- Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies. If Apple refunds or revokes a purchase, the plan it paid for ends
- If your family uses Ask to Buy, a purchase is completed only after the family organizer approves it
- Without a plan, your journal still stays on your iPhone, keeps working for writing and recording, and an existing backup can still be restored
We may change prices or what's included in a plan. Apple will tell you about price changes to an existing subscription as its rules require.
5. Your Content
- Your memories, recordings and photos belong to you. We don't claim ownership of them
- You give us a limited permission to store, process and transmit your content only as needed to run the App's features: backing it up, restoring it, showing memories you share to the friends you choose, and (if you agree) sending it to our AI partner to write replies and summaries
- You are responsible for what you put in MiniiMe, and you should only add or share photos, videos, songs and details about other people that you have the right to use
6. Friends and Sharing
- Only share memories with friends you trust. Once a friend has seen a shared memory, we can't control what they do with what they saw, even after you take it back
- Don't use MiniiMe to harass, threaten, impersonate or share anything illegal, hateful, sexually explicit or harmful
- Don't share someone else's private information without their permission
- We may remove shared content or limit friend features for anyone who breaks these rules
7. Public Links
- A public link can be opened by anyone who has it. Share it only with people you trust; once someone has seen it, they may copy, screenshot or pass it on, and we can't undo that
- Only make links for memories and photos you have the right to share, and don't share other people's private information or photos without their permission
- The rules in Friends and Sharing apply to public links too. Public links must not contain illegal, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit or harmful content
- Anyone can report a public page. We review reports and may turn off a link, remove its content or limit your ability to make links if it breaks these terms
- Links expire on the schedule you choose, and you can turn one off at any time
8. Places and Location
Adding a place to a memory is optional. If you choose "Exact spot", the precise location is saved with the memory and your backup, so think about who else might use your phone or account. Places are never shown to friends or on public links. See the Privacy Policy for details.
9. AI Features
- Conversations with your MiniiMes, titles and chapter summaries are written by AI (currently provided by OpenAI) based on your memories
- AI can be wrong, incomplete or misremember things. Your MiniiMe is not really you, and its replies are not facts or advice
- AI features are used only after you agree, and you can turn them off in Settings > AI & Privacy
- Daily limits on chat messages apply to keep the service fair and running
- You agree not to use the AI features to create harmful content, and to follow OpenAI's usage policies
10. Time Capsules
Time capsules are sealed on purpose. Once sealed, a capsule can't be opened in the App until its date, including by you, so please double-check the date before sealing. We can't unseal a capsule early.
11. Songs and Third-Party Services
Songs from Apple Music, YouTube, YouTube Music and Spotify play in those services' own players and are subject to their terms. Full Apple Music playback requires your own Apple Music subscription; otherwise a preview plays. We are not responsible for third-party services, which may change or stop working.
12. App Lock
The optional passcode lock helps keep your journal private on your phone. If you forget it, you can recover with your security questions or your MiniiMe account password. If you can do neither, we may not be able to help you get back in.
13. Acceptable Use
You agree to:
- Use MiniiMe for personal, non-commercial purposes
- Not reverse engineer, copy or modify the App, or access our servers other than through the App
- Not try to get around limits, the paywall, time capsule seals or security measures
- Not use the App in any way that breaks the law or harms others
14. Backups and Your Data
We work hard to keep your backup safe, but no service is perfect. Keep your iPhone backed up too. We are not responsible for memories lost because of device problems, deleting the App, turning off backup, or deleting your account.
15. Health and Wellness Disclaimer
Important: MiniiMe is a journaling and self-reflection tool, not a medical or mental health service. Conversations with your MiniiMes are for reflection and fun only. If you're struggling, please reach out to a qualified professional. If you are in crisis or in danger, contact local emergency services (in the US, call or text 988).
16. Intellectual Property
MiniiMe, its pixel art, characters, places, animations and all related features are owned by Colin Boykin and protected by copyright and other laws. We give you a personal, non-transferable license to use the App on Apple devices you own or control, as allowed by the App Store's Usage Rules.

17. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We can't guarantee:
- Uninterrupted or error-free access to the App, backup or AI features
- The accuracy of AI-generated replies, titles or summaries
- Compatibility with every device
- The availability of third-party services (such as OpenAI, Google Cloud, Apple Music, YouTube or Spotify)
18. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Colin Boykin is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages from your use of the App, including loss of data, service interruptions, or reliance on AI responses. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for MiniiMe in the 12 months before the claim.
19. Termination
You can stop using MiniiMe and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access to online features (such as AI, backup and friends) if you break these terms. Subscriptions are managed through Apple.
20. Apple
Apple is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for the App or its content, maintenance, support, warranties or any claims about it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies.
21. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date, and we'll let you know in the App about material changes. Continuing to use MiniiMe after changes means you accept the new terms.
22. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
